First blog post!
I was proof reading my university assignment when this thought popped into my mind. I would like to see what other people think.
As you all know, when debating religious people, it is impossible to get across to them. You hear the clichéd lines such as "god works in mysterious ways" and "faith bla bla". The list goes on (just a quick sidenote - I seldom initiate debates with religious people, they stick their noses into my life so I feel the need to "discuss" the issue of god with them).
Well instead of maybe arguing that there is insufficient evidence to prove the existence of god, how about this to (well, hopefully) shut them up:
"Look, even if your god was real, I would way rather worship another deity anyway because I don't like how your god will execute the wife if she is not a virgin; Deuteronomy 22:13-21(or insert any bible verse as you see fit)."
So the thrust of the argument is I guess is that I don't care even if your god exists, because even if he was real he is a pompous prick who is a DICKHEAD. Should give them some food for thought....but then I wouldn't be holding my breath.
