how many christians will wake up this morning
to celebrate “the resurrection” &
then turn on their television to see if the nukes have begun to fly?
how many christians will vote in november to elect the figurehead of an empire that will promise the quickest way to bring upon their “armageddon,” via the building up of the military & using it to stomp on as many people possible in hopes that somebody, somewhere, will start their “rapture” a blooming?
these individuals waking up this morning
bearing such sugar-plums dancing in all their heads
(better be the least sexually suggestive dance possible, mind you)
represent what percentage of americans that think their “jesus”
is bound to return
within their lifetime?
daunting numbers are thrown around by papers &
research groups,
telling the rest of us that something like 40% or more of
americans
are all raring to go when the nukes start to fly &
“jesus” comes down from the sky to save them all
because they have been good little girls & boys---
so,
how many of the button pushers sitting right now with their fingers on the triggers
do you think are part of that 40%?
and all this time you were scared of a little ol’ islamic fundamentalist.
Comment by Mabel on April 8, 2012 at 4:58pm I loved all of this except the very last line. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. You seem to be saying we don't need to worry about the Islamic fundamentalists. I don't think you were but it comes off that way to me. Maybe I just didn't get it.
@Mabel. First, thanks for taking the time to read my work! Secondly, not saying not to worry about anybody who is trigger happy with a finger on the button---button = bad, pure & simple : ) As far as whose finger---it can be fellow Atheists, Agnostics, Non-Believers, etc., as well as Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, lol...insanity of such a caliber doesn't discriminate. However, on such a day as "Easter," it is important to shed light on a specific kind of insanity, particular to the empire that we currently live in, which currently runs the world. That is all : ) Again, thanks for reading. I hope I was able to clarify.
