Who prays for a tastebud?
Okay so.
I visit facebook and play those apps.
I have several friends on there who I don't know but they also play those apps.
There is one girl in particular whom I don't know but she sends me gifts and things so I keep her hanging around on my facebook. But I think I'm gonna delete her, because no facebook app is worth seeing "I love Jesus" all over my wall and news feed.
Okay so, I never really talked to this girl before until one day she posted "Life is worthless without Jesus"
I rarely comment on religious status updates because it just starts fights.
But I commented on that one. I merely said, "My life is worth everything and I don't have one in my life" [talking about a god.]
Oh lawdy they came out of the woodworks to expel the demons from me.
Some older woman (in her 50s) recited a HUGE prayer just for me. I would go find it and paste it to you guys but this girl posts so many status updates in any given period of time it would take me hours to find it.
But it was a LONG prayer that she REALLY poured her heart into. And her other friends joined in. They all told me they would pray for me and they were sorry I had yet to be touched by the love of Jesus etc etc.
Well, I simply told them thank you and I went on my way.
This girl posted a status update yesterday and said "God, please help heal this swollen tastebud on my tongue." You know the one I'm talking about? We all get them, that annoying painful tastebud that just won't die so it swells and hurts.
Well her friends (the ones who made a prayer for me) posted "We'll pray for you! Gargle with saltwater!"
And I wanted so bad to post "Who the hell prays for a tastebud?"
I really should have.
Anyway, in the time I started writing this this same girl has posted about 6 status updates about how much she loves Jesus. Her latest one is "JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS"
You know, I really love cats. I would worship a cat god if there was one. (Bastet, anyone?)
But I do not chant "CATS CATS CATS CATS" in my status updates. And I wouldn't if I was a follower of a cat god.
It sounds to me like she is either
a) THAT brainwashed and delusional
or
b) She KNOWS it's all a lie and she thinks by announcing her love for Jesus it will somehow make it true
What do you guys think?

You can hide her from your feed if she annoys you. Or you could always delete her, I sure wouldn't want to see JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS everytime I log on to my facebook. Why put yourself through needless suffering?

A bunch of older ladies hoping to share the feeling of being touched by the 'love' of Jesus? I think that was the plot for a soft-core porn back in the 80's...
Anyway, two things
1) If you do not like what this girl is posting on her status updates and you find it troublesome, just delete her as a friend. There's no point in being socially connected with facebook or myspace to people who you really have no interest in being socially connected with. There's this one kid on myspace who friended me. His status updates always involve references to the bible and the name jesus is written all over them. I don't like the updates, but he doesn't try posting the stuff on my wall and even if he did I would reject it. If I had a problem with it, I'd delete him from my friends, but I really don't mind it that much. He must see all of my status comments as well.
2) I hate getting drawn into the group prayer sessions for my 'evil ways' on these types of sites, but you have every right to respond to the girl's comments if you should like to. It is likely that each of your comments will provoke some responses, but sometimes what some of these people need is an antagonist to make them realize how silly some of their thoughts are. They likely won't change because of your comments, but you may catch them in a logic trap they wouldn't have seen themselves. It just depends on whether or not you want to spare the time to deal with it.

Well, I commented on one final status update and this is what happened--
Me: I don't mean to be rude and I am making an observation. But you seem ridiculously obsessed with your religion and I think I am going to delete you from my facebook.
Her: It's okay, God will love you and I will love you forever. I pray that my messages get across to you and that you will one day open your eyes.
Me: Um, thanks.
Her: You're welcome! Now, listen! HE is trying to speak to you. With my messages, may you open your heart and listen to HIM!
Me: I'm listening. He's telling me you're kind of nuts.
and then I deleted her. Lol
