Morgan posed a vid titled "that is why I am an atheist and not an agnostic." In the vid a lady stands up and says that she wants to feel better knowing that her friends and family are in a better place. I've shaken my head at this statement for years. I don't know where the passage is that says that you just rise up and go to heaven right when you die. What is the point of Jesus raising the dead in the Apocalypse then?

1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first”

Psalms 115:17 “The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence”.

We all know that the largest reason for religious belief is the "hope" of an afterlife. If the religion that you subscribe to does not prescribe the afterlife that you imagine or hope for, and this is the greatest reason that you follow it, then why do you follow it? How can you shape your life on a non-existent passage? Does someone know what I'm missing? Please, someone teach me before I flip out at the next funeral and call Shenanigans like Martin Luther.

Great post, Sir. I always wondered this. I once said to someone that mentioned so & so was in a better place & I came back with, "How in the hell am I goin' to kill zombies if your god keeps takin' away the potential undead? I thought Jesus was to awaken their rottin' corpses."

I also wonder why I haven't been strung up & lynched yet.

Yeah, pluck out your eye so that you can make it to heaven... don't worry, it will rot away long before Jesus gets back. I'm gonna keep my eye and lust away!
