This is another one of those blogs that came from a forum discussion, but I thought that it was important to me. I want to use my blog to not only blab about what my experiences are, but also where I stand on issues and my philosophies.

we have a life filled with friendship, experiences that change your out look on life, memories to celebrate, love, beauty and creativity . Who
could ask for more?

yes, we die after living our lives the best we can, and as an atheist we do not believe in any kind of afterlife. But even after death
our decaying bodies become one with the earth and influence growth.

lets call this, "Pageithesm".
It's the Pagan view of death...the soul becomes one with nature and is reborn, mixed with atheism....there is no soul, but our body is nutrient for
plants.

Works well if your an environmentally friendly person.

This is a picture of a tattoo that I want to get. It is a symbol that represents what Pagans believe nature's cycle is like. It is called the tree of life. (not to be confused with the Tree Of Knowledge that God forbade Eve from eating from.)

Even though I am an Atheist, and not Pagan, I think this applies to either. Plus, its a nod to my Fiance's beliefs.

Your body also has nutrients for animals. Actually you're already shedding 10 grams of skin per week while alive, which feeds all the dust mites.

Samuel, don't forget about other things we... eliminate. All sorts of microorganisms thrive in what our body rejects. All in all, it's just a grand cycle and we're just a link, passing by. We might as well enjoy it.

Love that design for your future tattoo... It says it all!

I don't like the thought of my body decaying. But the thought of my body being cremated disturbs me. I come from a poor family so most likely I will be burned "adead."

Hehehe, I think it's funny. But hey, I enjoy Christmas. That little pagan-of-a-holiday that Christians love to celebrate, I don't really care if I sing along the tunes and decorate my house, it's for the fun! Just like this Tatoo is.

True. You know those dust in your computer keyboard? They belong to you, your girlfriend, and/or your dog.

When I die, I'm going into an oven to get turned to ashes. Or, if there does happen to be an afterlife, I'm going looking for this "God" character and kick his ass. What a jerk :)

The thought of coming from dust from stars, coming from matter that collected in a gravity well and formed the earth, coming from chemicals that have been recycled for millions of years (when you next see a fossil you might be staring at where some of your body material came from), the pure chance that your parents concived who they did, to live a life and then return to be recycled again until the sun dies and we return the star dust that we once came from. this is the nearest thing I will have to a spiritual experiance. I like this idea. I think I might have easily been a pagan if I was born in centural europe a few thousand years ago (if I wasnt an atheist that is).

Indeed. Agreed.
