While I am an atheist, Atheism only Describes what I am not. And thats a Theist, But recently I have been in search of a Philosophy. I'v been looking at independent Satanism, LeVay  that is, And naturalistic Pantheism and paganism among others. But I would love to here from someone belonging to some of the groups, For inspiration and education if anything. Leave me comment Describing what you "Are"

I'm a humanist...  and also a secularist.

I don't think any ideation of man has scratched the surface of the mystery that is at the heart of our universe and existence. Certainly not religion.

I think its much more humble and honest to admit when and that you 'don't know' and to face life with eyes and ears wide open with a philosophy that is subject to change and modification as new information comes to light.

This is a good question.  As we all should know, atheism is simply lack of belief in gods.  It doesn't say anything about what we do believe.  These labels could all apply to me:

Atheist, Rationalist, Secularist, Buddhist, Naturalist, Humanist.

I am a humanist, and a pragmatist.

I only have one life. That is enough.

A rationalist/humanist for sure

I am with Cass on this one. I don't like labels.

But one could say I am a FreeThinker...I like that free part to process information and apply it to how I feel and to set my own standards.

I would have to agree with both Cass and Walter. I'm me and there isn't really a label to it. But along with walter if you had to slap one on me, it would probably be a freethinker

I just am me. I don't feel that having a personal Philosophy makes me who I am because regardless I will still have the same feelings and make the same choices. I like it that way, it makes life much more interesting.

It's always bothered me, peoples need for titles or labels. Slap a title on it and it makes it real or something. People act as if to live at all they need to tag themselves by these titles/label. That without it them they are somehow diminished as a person. Probably why most people are theists to begin with. Maybe I am weird but I just don't see why its necessary. Why can't people live life without these titles, all they do force people to stay within that titles boundaries. Putting a restriction on their thoughts. It makes me feel that if I say I am this or that then I am somehow forced to follow the guidelines it carries. Consciously or subconsciously I will follow the rules that apply to those titles/labels.

I think it's much more relaxing to have nothing holding my mind back, without restrictions, I just am. I should point out that I don't think its a bad thing it's just not for me. I lived to long with a title and I am happy to be rid of it.

To me it's titles that diminish a person not the lack of having one. Hope I didn't confuse everyone with my ramblings.

I don't like label's much but I am mostly a secular humanist and a realist. I also really like Max More's Extropy principles

What are you guys talking about?, its not a label or anything.... its just something YOU choose to hold to, what with all this "I have only one life" stuff? you dont need to be "Labeled"
