When you put it that way, O'Reilly might actually be entertaining if his show had a laugh track. Would someone consider editing an episode to include a laugh track so we can check that out?

I recomend books- not nearly as currnet in any topic- but much more in depth-
Opinion journalism?- WTF- did anyone know what way Harry Cronkite voted- NO - he delivered the news- as far as he new it- --NEWS is supposed to be as non-opiionated as it can be- SO sick of "newscasters" opinions-- please can we get "news"- what is actually happening in the world, with NO slant from the reporters viewpoint- I don't care F-all what they think- right or left- they are supposed to report- not opinionate and editorialize-

Mason... "pretty much" doesn't mean "actually", now, does it? It is very interesting to note that Fox actually features many more liberal guests in their shows than, say, CNN features conservative ones. I have seen that actually researched somewhere, so I am not pulling this out of my ar*e. 

With regards to the claims that Sophie posts, excluding the religious ones, I feel they are all exaggerations of valid positions (some wrong, of course). Take for example, "all muslims are terrorists". No, of course, but as Sam Harris shows, IF you are a real muslim you HAVE TO be sympathetic to terrorism. "Mankind has in no way contributed to climate change". I have to agree with that one.

My point is: you can never be 100% in agreement with anyone. And, as I like to disregard religious opinions in Fox as kooky and not pay any attention to them, I find the rest closer to my heart than the extreme positions and bilious rants of some media personalities of the left (BTW, why are left-of-centre people so angry all the time? Chill, man).

Let's take the issues on. They don't have to be seen as right or left.
Israel attacked the USS Liberty in 1967. They did so to commit genocide on Egyptian Soldiers they had as POWs. The bodies were found in the 90's. We had a listening post and they effectively got rid of us to continue on with their 6 day war plans. You may disagree with the assessment, but you'd be disagreeing with the commander of the ship and the evidence found 30 years later that supports the claims.

The laying claim to more and more land is against the treaties signed with Israel with the rest of the world. Fox continually and explicitly defends these moves and even lies outwardly for Israel. NPR is the most balanced news that we have in the US. Consistently the interviewers give equal time, ask thoughtful questions, they don't feel the need to yell... If you think that Warren Olney is biased, you've never paid attention. He's the Tim Russert of the radio. This rational radio is the type of radio current Republicans want to de-fund. You can come to your conclusions as to why, but we all know that open and honest debate yields the best information. If the conclusion doesn't support right-wing thought, it may be that right-wing thought simply can't stand up to scrutiny. This is one of the last places to get balance, so it must be labeled crushed.

Incarcerating drug addicts in the War on Drugs has done what to drug usage rates? We have the highest incarceration rates in the world and one of the highest drug usage rates in the world. 46% of Americans have tried marijuana while it's in the 20% range for the Netherlands. So the question shouldn't be about conservative or liberal, it should be about effectiveness.

If the death penalty is an effective deterrent, why is it that the states that have the most executions are also the ones that also has the most murders? Is the conservative position effective here?http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/murder-rates-nationally-and-state

How about taxation. The conservative position is to lower taxes. How has that worked out for us in the last 30 years? Do we have more jobs? Better paying jobs? More revenues? Are people paid better? The answer to all of those questions is abysmal. Yet, the conservative/Fox position remains the same.

There is nothing wrong with being conservative. Fox isn't exactly conservative. They are an extreme off shoot. Conservativism used to be about rights. It used to be about small government. Ask Fox what cuts the military should be taking. Ask Fox to defend the rights afforded to the prisoners held in US jails. Ask Fox what types of social safety nets are OK. Ask Fox what a low enough tax rate is. Ask Fox when the Laffer Curve will be no longer effective (hint, Bush tax cuts showed a continued loss in revenues). Ask them how many Palestinians should die per Israeli before they become offended.

Be conservative if you like. But come prepared to defend your positions if you want to talk about it in a public forum. Don't ask the people to just not comment. Show them why they are wrong. If you can't, maybe it's time for introspection.
