If you leave Pandora's box open, even a little, the fundies will escape. This isn't to disagree with your core point, but socially speaking, if you leave the door open there are those whom will use it against you. Atheist's largely accept the possibility of god, we just don't recognize it without a reason. I'm still waiting for a reason, just one reason to see a god in nature or otherwise.

'God' is the product of the Strong Theists. 'He' is a ficitonal character in a old book. 'God' and 'Mickey Mouse' are the same. Both are ficitional, and both dislike other Strong Theists!

Mr. a7, I do not believe in god, still it is so irrelevant, to me, that I realize god such as mickey mouse, just a fictional character, as well said by Andrew Lafont.
Mr. Gaytor, I understand your point, and I agree; yet due to all the mankind thinking capacity and all our logic brains, up tp this moment is impossible to recognize any possibility for the existence of a god. If, in a future time there will be a strong reason for humans to accept some kind of god, I will accept it too, because of my logic sense. At this moment, I can't follow the origin of the universe to a point different of the big bang; I could accept any other explanation besides it, but god and the miracles from it, are unacceptable for a simple reason: the lack of reason does not make god a possibility.
My new friends, it is wonderful realizing that there are so many racional people, and I make this moment especially interesting to me, because of I live in a strongly catholic country, here it would be something like a bible belt everywhere I go.
