There's a "What Women Want" and a "What Men Want" thread, but I don't think what I want quite belongs in either category because they are heteronormative threads. "What Women Want" is really "What Women Want from Men" and I'm a lesbian. "What Men Want" (From Women) is for men, and I'm a woman. So here goes my own thing.
I want a woman who is understanding and kind, not just to me, but to people in general. I want somebody who knows who she is and has her life together, not a big mess that she expects me to clean up with the power of love. I want her to be intellectual and geeky. I want her to be funny, but she doesn't have to be funny on command or all of the time. I want her to be able to watch a horror movie with me that's full of blood and gore. I want her to be honest and tell me about what she's feeling, what she wants, etc., so I can be there for her through the good and the bad. I want her to help me feel good about myself, instead of making me feel ugly and worthless (I had an ex that did the latter). I want her to love me and be in love with me, which are two different things, in case you didn't know. I want her to be open to an open, polyamorous relationship, because monogamy is not my instinct. I want her to be good with kids, because I plan on adopting my first child within 3 years, more or less. I want her to get along with my existing family and friends. I want a woman who likes cats, because I have a cat, and I will not give her up for anything.
