Haha, Wow. My last post of my rant against trendy vegans/vegetarians got rather exciting and out of hand. More than likely my fault, but I rather like the people of this site so I took it down as to not offend or alienate anyone on the site that saw it as a personal attack on all people that are vegetarian.
The amount of replies that took away from my post things that I didn't mean was astounding, as I have had this post on other sites and not gotten so much offense. I can only assume that it is a fault in my writing and my way of speaking on that point.
I think I rather got tired of trying to reiterate my views as to make people see that I do not mind vegetarians that do it for any personal, spiritual, or health reasons. I merely dislike people that use the title or "Vegan or Vegetarian" as a means to gain social status or trendiness, as i really do see that a lot where I live.
Once again, I must apologize that it cam out in such a way that made me sound as ignorant as it did, and perhaps I am that ignorant. But the feelings behind it were those of anger towards those that are self-rewarding in the venture of such a diet choice.
To those of you that thought of me as a worthless meat eater, I don't eat most meat as I have a stomach disease and it makes me sick because the meat is too hard for me to digest. I only eat meat because when I tried to cut out meat products, and follow a medically regulated vegetarian diet, it actually worsened my condition. Also, I am wholeheartedly against animal cruelty, and have had my own hand in directly working with abused animals. Which is why it angers me so to see people accrediting themselves as being righteous animal advocates when all they do is not eat meat because they're friends said it was the cool thing to do.

Alright then, I fully expect to keep receiving colorful hate mail. So, if you want to get my attention and yell at me, do so through a message.

Shame I missed your rant.
I often am irked by vegetarians and vegans, but for a slightly different reason.
It's the "I'm a vegetarian.. but..." thing that eats me up.
In college the other day I overheard:
"I'm a vegetarian, I just eat chicken and bacon."
Really annoying. Wish I'd have read the original post!

I would have liked to see your rant.

I know a few vegetarians, ranging from a Buddhist friend who is a vegetarian because he does not believe in the killing of animals, to another friend who started the dietary change for health reasons, to a couple people who somehow think that vegetarian means 'doesn't eat beef'.

Here's my own rant to add if you ever want to repost yours or make another.

1) If you are a self proclaimed vegan/vegetarian for animal rights reasons that doesn't de-sex your pets, (And this is rampant in ever Buddhist nation I've ever lived in) then you are a lying hypocrite. Make believe a hell so you can burn in it!

2) If you are a vegan/vegetarian human of a normal, working biology that claims to do so stringently for health reasons, you need to go back to anatomy class. (Cutting back animal products = good. Having to have a doctor/nutritionist carefully watch over your every plate and administer a handful of pills or injections =bad) * It is your choice to do so, whatever the reasons. Just don't say it's better for your health when that is medically incorrect. It makes you either look just plain stupid or self righteous and stupid.
