I was stumbling around the internet this afternoon and came across an interesting question. The original post was on some very small, obscure blogspot page, but StumbleUpon did its due diligence and delivered it to my screen.
The question (posed here: http://enlightenedostrich.blogspot.com/2010/06/vote-for-god-jacobso...) was this: would you vote for a man named God Jacobson, take under consideration that to vote against him would be to "vote against God?"
The author even took it one step further and asked how people would deal with the next day's headlines should such a politician get assassinated (headlines such as "God is Dead" or "God Assassinated").
What an interesting thought. Of course, I doubt many would have the guts to give the name God to their son or daughter, but why not? We name our kids Jesus, Emmanuel, Noel, and so on. Why not God? Could you imagine how hard a time some people in America would have voting against such a person just because of his name?
