Using The Christian Bible against Christian Theists.

If Christianity is correct, why did the God of the bible have so many contradictions to the teachings of his son, but yet you can say that Judaism is incorrect, which is a little ridiculous considering they follow the bible more closely?

You might say that they interpret it differently then you do, but how can you explain the stories in the bible describing how the Jews where God's chosen people, before the coming of Jesus!?

...more to come.

Judaism isn't totally incorrect to a christian's sense, in fact if it was "incorrect", Christians wouldn't include it in their bible along with the New Testament. What is Judaism in the Christian bible? It's the Old Testament. The old testament is actually the Torah.

There are slight differences however, in traditions of the Jews who observe Judaism, and the Modern Christians. Such as the Jewish new year (Rosh Hashana), Passover (Pesach), Hannukah, which are all different from today's christians who celebrate christmas, easter, etc.

Technically, christian traditions are Latin-borne, which means they were part of an old roman tradition (Paganism - like Christmas). The original Christians during the roman persecution, were more likely to be Jews, thus they are more likely to be observing the Hebrew traditions. All christian sects today are borne out of the Roman Catholic tradition, that's why most of them have the same holidays as the catholics.

As for the contradictions, there are actually more contradictions in the Old testament than the new testament. But regardless of the old and new... the real cause of contradictions in the bible is that there are multiple writers in it... Taken from dreams, parables, stories, poems, (etc.) from a wide variety of authors. So, like ALL religious books (written by thoughtless irrational people) it's natural to have contradictions in it.

as for your last paragraph... I don't get it. :(

// As far as Using the Christian Bible Against Christian Theists goes - good luck //

Let the stupid be stupid, no matter how much you shake their heads they'll close their minds to evidence and the truth.

But remember, there are also theists who's minds are capable of critical thinking, and perhaps their minds are not yet aware of our agenda. They just need a trigger from those who've already opened up their minds. Just like most of us here might not have been born atheists or skeptics, they just need enlightenment to reason and science.

All I know is that if people are too closed minded to see that their holy book is Jewish with tacked on beliefs from a Prophet who makes ridiculous claims....They will never be able to understand a debate anyway.
