We've touched this topic a few times over the last year. I've always considered consent a pretty big deal...and have noticed too many of my acquaintances (mostly guys) completely misunderstanding what should be a total no-brainer.
It's a quick video that explains why it IS a big deal.
That's a really good video.
have noticed too many of my acquaintances (mostly guys) completely misunderstanding what should be a total no-brainer.
Do you hang around the rapist's wing at your local prison or something? I don't think I know anyone who would of learned anything from that video. Maybe it's a cultural thing?
^what Belle said. College bro-dudes brag about banging drunk chicks and the "come on baby...just a quickie...then cum in her face and laugh" kind of stories. It provides endless dark pathetic laughter. Then there were female friends telling me about waking up violated. Several of them. Mostly at university...some after. They were all ordinary people.
No, it's a guy thing
I'll say it again: "I don't think I know anyone who would of learned anything from that video". If it's a guy thing, how have I avoided people like this? How am I not like this? and how is Davis not like this? Are we not guys?
Men from all cultures behave like they are "entitled."
Way to generalise. I thought we didn't like generalising people?
I have NO qualms in saying that New Mexican/ Mexican men are especially behind tHe evolutionary curve.
That's like saying they are biologically inferior. In reality, they are almost exactly the same, biologically, as any other man. Pretty sure it's a cultural thing.
College bro-dudes
Yeah we don't have those so much in Australia... again, seems like a cultural thing.
It provides endless dark pathetic laughter
If they are just stories, I see no problem with this. No one's consent is violated by telling a story, regardless of how crass or degrading that story might of been.
Then there were female friends telling me about waking up violated.
I hope they reported their experience to the police. Too much of this sort of thing goes unreported.
And on that note, I'm going to make myself a cup of tea.
Yes, let's!
