I've been trying to find the direct myths on those gods, sadly I've found nothing on Isis Mari, on Isis yes but Mari apparently might be an add on after the foundation of Alexandria. If you guys can link me some I'd be a happy scholar.

The constellations make sense, if you're a farmer/herder, you live on crops and winter is your mortal enemy, and night hinders your work, so it's obvious you'll be rooting for the sun. Nice post.

I was just watching the vid on astrology and it's links to early gods. Very cool explanations. I read the Jesus Mysteries (Book) which writes about the Gods and their histories, but they never make the astrological link. Another book (name escapes me) talks about Romans conquering multiple areas and as a measure of control they choose to create a new God to tie them all together. That's only the authors hypothesis.
You left Mormonism... I hope that your family relationship survived. It's an interesting religion in terms of how nice the people are, yet how ridiculous the tenets of the religion are. Gold plates in a hat and the text changed on the second reading... Yikes.
