Well we did it! Despite seemingly homophobic issues from a few members of our group, diminishing funds and last minute issues, the Greensboro Atheist Organization got a booth at the LGBT pride festival here in Greensboro, NC. Our first outreach booth- and it was a whopping success. It drew more participants from the group than almost any other meeting and got people excited as well as getting several new members that same day on our meetup group. Just as I suspected, there were many who deeply appreciated seeing an atheist booth amid half a dozen church booths and we had a few really great in depth conversations (despite the music being so loud that I had to scream over it).
