I'd like to share with everyone my thoughts for today.

I was watching a video on youtube about Peaches trying to interview people at a mosque rally. (Yea, THAT mosque.)

It got me thinking. How can those people in that video call themselves Christians?

I was raised as a Christian in a Christian home. I went to Christian church every week, I practiced Christian morals and Christian values.

One side of my family was a modern Christian...but then there was my family.

My grandparents who raised me..that family.

My grandfather, I think.. is Christian because he has to be. But never once in my life have I ever heard him say the word "god" in ANY form. No cursing, no thanking, no praying.

But my grandmother.. is the perfect person.

She's liberal and a democrat. She loves Obama, she hated Bush. She thinks Palin should be gotten rid of. She loves homosexual people and believes black people deserve respect just like white people. She says that regardless of beliefs, all people are equal. She believes people should practice morality and she is against child conditioning. She has respected my beliefs ever since I was 11 years old and said "I don't believe in God and I'm not a Christian."

She believes we have a creator, but she does not necessarily believe in the bible. She believes in women's rights, is somewhat of a feminist, and believes that women have the right to have abortions. She agrees that teenage boys that wear their pants to their ankles are hideously disrespectful. She proudly recites the pledge of allegiance and prays and worships God daily.

She has no negativity towards anyone.

I love my grandma. She's the perfect person. I'm glad my grandparents raised me and not my parents. I love my parents, but they are still just kids. They haven't quite grown up yet. Not like my grandma.

I wish more people were like my grandma!

LOVE YOU, MEMAW!

(PS: No she isn't gone, she's still with us. I'm going to see her today, she lives out of state. :)

(PPS: Here's the video. I wanted you to read my blog before you watched the video. It's a great video if you havent seen it yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yPRl8vYXBw )

Your grandma sounds like my parents, except my parents have never realized that they're liberal. All of their social views are liberal, 90% of their economic views are liberal. Somehow they have been convinced that they are conservative, but thankfully other than voting they think for themselves. They gave me the environment and latitude to explore all options and also didn't believe in childhood indoctrination.
