The God Cortex, my virgin attempt at poetry

When humans take neurons place
A god's mind arises of our own sake
And just like cortices battle within the brain
Humanity shows bloody indifference
to individual pain
so who's in charge and who's at the head?
who provides glucose, who bakes the bread?
he who severs his synapses will wither away
but he who connects will through them have say
and yet her scream still rings true
how can humans be so cruel?
and she pours out a glass of neuronal genocide
and she sips her whiskey as kids in Africa die
when humans from each other take
a god's mind arises of our own tastes
when we bring mind and heart to talks of fate
it gets more complex than our religions fake
and if consciousness ends up just functions of an active brain
what from god, the great metaphor
can humanity gain?
and if our ideas are as crazy as you claim
question yourself who's really to blame
humanity is a part of god, so isn't he inevitably insane?
