So it seems that the Christians have taken a new low now, by releasing their very own "Christian Tablet" they are calling The Edifi.
Get this the Edifi, is equipped with its own web browser with a "safe search" built into it. In order words, its their nifty little way to censor its users shamelessly in order to avoid too much questioning and thinking outside the box. Can't say I'm too surprised really.
I can't help to suspect that this could be motivated by apples decision to ban and delete various anti gay and homophobic apps from the apple app store. On one hand that is a good thing because at least apple's store will be free from that type of filth but on the other hand they are really going to their depths to limit independent thoughts with this device.
According to the article in which I sourced this story it also runs a special Bible application containing up to 27 different translations of the Holy Bible
What do you think?
For more information on the story feel free to check out Yahoo's coverage on the Edifi:
"If you've been wanting a tablet but thought the options currently out on the market are just too heathenish for your tastes, your wait is over. A group called Family Christian announced the sale of Edifi, which it claims is the world's first Christian tablet. Edifi features a web browser with a built-in "safe search" and options for Christian radio stations. It also runs the company's Holy Bible application, which contains 27 different English translations of the Bible; who knew there were that many to choose from?...."
