More than 57% of Swiss voters have supported a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets, according to results from 25 out of 26 cantons.

Partial results from the final canton indicated 68% of people there supported the ban, Swiss news agency ATS said.

The proposal has been backed by the Swiss People's Party (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which claims minarets are a sign of Islamisation.

It wasn't a referendum proposal, it was a legislative initiative. I think, this is a clear sign that islamisation is not welcome.

I'm pretty sure the Swiss government doesn't guarantee freedom of religion to begin with.
If that is the case, then I can't say I blame them.
I'm actually sort of torn on the issue. On one hand, I feel that freedom of religion is the same as freedom from religion.
On the other hand, I also feel that a secular country (if this is the case) should be allowed to make secular laws as long as they are not crimes against humanity.
