Thanks for the schooling, Nelson. I really liked the QualiSoup video. And it just amazes me that the Catholic church is clueless enough to try and simply forbid people to deconvert.

That Qualia video had a fatal flaw in its logic when comparing a trial jury with believing in gods or not. In a trial, jurists are faced with evidence for BOTH sides. In such a situation it is a tenable position that people can be undecided. However, in matters of god, there is no evidence for gods but plenty of evidence to support the contrary, that nature is entirely explainable by natural phenomenom. The god concept and the moralities that go with the concept were written down in bibles were written by power hungy humans. There is not a stitch of evidence for the veracity of any of its stories. And no matter how any given dictionary says about the defintion of agnosticism, the vast majority of people who call themselves agnostics, in Canada anyway, use it to mean they don't know either whether there's a god or not, as if there was evidence for both and they simply could not make up their mind. This is ridiculous, there is no evidence for both, there is only evidence of nature at work.

TAA: thanks for the comment. i've tried in the past to keep Sunday School posts from turning into the place to discuss one specific link from the list, asking instead that a member wanting to discuss one of the links search TA to see if there's already a thread or a blog post where it's being discussed or, if not, posting a blog post or new thread where the subject can be discussed (for instance, a search of TA resulted in my finding the video in the video section here where comments can be added). that said, i will say briefly that it is perhaps not true that there is no evidence for the theist's position to weigh, it's just that we weigh it and find it lacking compared to the evidence against. theists can adduce all kinds of what they feel is evidence for their belief, the evidence is just poor.
