cognitive theories of religion show that religion is natural given our evolved minds. theists often use this to suggest that atheism is therefore unnatural. they're wrong.

though it comes with a ton of qualifiers making it unclear under exactly which circumstances it would be permissible, the infallible pope has apparently changed his mind on condom use. he's being quoted in a new book as saying that condom use would be okay under certain circumstances in order to prevent HIV. tentatively, this is huge and will save millions of lives, particularly in Africa.

a new study purports to show evidence of precognition but has several problems. no doubt the new age woo-woo'ers will be citing this study so arm yourself with some links pointing out the study's problems.

a few thoughs:

anti-vaccine public service anouncments might be totally off base...but there is going to be some people that will agree with it, and i think it's fine that these people are speaking there minds.

ok..babies are atheists. religion only comes to people who learn about it. of course it isnt natural.

you know...the pope is just fucking out of touch with reality. hopefully no one is listeing anymore.

"phenomena that are inexplicable according to current scientific knowledge" is just that.

it is totally posible to be skeptical of everything, and still beleive in something that doesnt have any proof.

life found inside the earth? just one joke...I bet it isnt satan.

even if homosexuality is immoral: which it cant be..it's natural.

US scientists are more likely to...that's bull. first of all, every scientist is different. there is not hidden agenda.

hmm..way to go Willy. everything begins with a question.
