Hey guys!

Remember to follow the Think Atheist Radio Show on Twitter and Facebook for show news and features plus Sunday School links throughout the week! I've started a feature called Bookmarks on the Think Atheist Radio Show Blog, posting some thoughts on all the books we read in order to prepare for the show. So far I've posted two editions of the series. The first is on former minister turned atheist John Loftus's significantly updated 2nd Edition to his justifiably often recommended book Why I Became an Atheist and the second is on philosopher and historian Richard Carrier's new book Proving History about the question of a historical Jesus. And there will certainly be more to come throughout the year!

Another piece of news I have for you is that the Think Atheist Radio Show now has its very own YouTube channel where we'll be uploading all of our interviews! This will be just another place that you can conveniently listen to the show! I'm working on getting our back catalog up and available right now but in the future look for new releases to be added there soon after the episode is available on ThinkAtheistRadio.com. Check out our channel and subscribe!

This week we're featuring our guest philosopher Dr. Colin Howson. Dr. Howson, previously a Professor of Logic at the London School of Economics, is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Ontario in Canada. He was president of the British Society for the Philosophy of Science for the years 2003-2005. A discussion of Bayes’s Theorem and its application in scientific reasoning is incomplete without the inclusion of his 1989 book Scientific Reason: A Bayesian Approach but it is his most recent book, Objecting to God, that we invited Dr. Howson to talk to us about. We wanted to examine how apologists are misusing probability to craft arguments for God that ultimately fall apart under examination. How does Santa Clause and a coin flip explain what's wrong with many arguments for the existence God? Listen to find out!

Recent attempts to replicate the findings of a psychology paper from 2011 that claimed to show evidence of precognition have failed. Perhaps the bigger problem (it's no surprise that the paper's claims have failed to be replicated) is that replication studies are notoriously difficult to get published and this stands in the way of doing science.

Great Links Nelson.
About that Kony 2012: I’m surprised no one here started a Forum on it. When I was watching the video, something didn’t sit right with me when the narrator said Joseph Kony “is not fighting for any cause”. … Huhhh? They’re called the Lord’s Resistance Army! They don’t have a cause? I’m pretty sure they have a cause and it involves one of the most abusive militant Christian movements imaginable. There psychopathic carnage is highly motivated by their Christian religious delusions. Or am I missing something? Is that not their cause?

Concerning the Afghan murderous rampage. On a side note – this incident has exposed to me the horrendous lack of morality by the supposed righteous Christians I know. I’m hearing a lot of:

“Do you blame him?” or “They deserved it” or “Hey, he was under a lot of stress, don’t judge him”

I am in disbelief by what I am hearing. Excuse me, this guys murdered children. I am horrified by these peoples inability to eliminate their partisan view and call this for what it is. It’s similar to what happened to 2nd Lt Calley after My Lai (who was basically never punished). This Christian Right will expect the same for this Staff Sgt and when he is sentence to death they will accuse Obama of being against the troops. Again… Hello!!!, He murdered children. Bill Maher is right (dispatch from the bubble)… it’s like there is this impenetrable bubble around these people which affects their line of morality and reason.

I don't see any links about the "Slaves, obey your masters" billboard from American Atheists. Quite a few people consider it racist, and it was torn down. Consider this viewpoint from the black skeptics blog: http://freethoughtblogs.com/blackskeptics/2012/03/12/slaves-like-us...

@Jason: Here's Wikipedia's take. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord's_Resistance_Army#Ideology It seems there's confusion on their ideology, with some people saying it's unclear what, if any, they have, but there does seem to be some inspiration from Christianity at least.

And concerning grandma and molecules--here is a little ditty from me,

Limited by Circumstance, it's life will begin

An uncertain journey, born without sin
