There was a link to an article re: The film "Creation" about the life of Darwin. I read some of the comments by non-believers. It astounds me that superstitions still triumph in the majority of people.

Finding that religion is so easily destroyed by the thoughts of the young is actually not surprising.

I love reading Greta Christina's insightful and witty articles. "Why It's So Tricky for Atheists to Debate with Believers" is a long but great read. Thanks again for a great collection!

The more young people actually start thinking about religion and start questioning the reasons for believing in non-existent entities of the supernatural and the more we expose them to facts of science through better teaching, the better the future will be and the greater the odds that religion might actually disappear from America. The sentence in that article about beliefs in heaven and hell suggest that many young people still believe in the generic aspects of faith, possibly the good bits. The rest of the article suggests a slow unraveling of the organized parts and bad bits of religion. If people would just actually READ the freaking Bible, more people would see how utterly despicable the whole package is. And the comments defending the Bible as having historical veracity only shows that people are still held under its spell.
