Links of Interest

The Sarah Palin Elementary School - A fictional vision of the future where religion has taken stronger root. I dub this short story a horror story; and think it illustrates a stark example of why we don't want religion running everything.

Master's Degree of Creationism Science - A few weeks ago in SMS I posted about The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) wanting to grant a Master's Degree of Creationism Science; and even getting a House Bill to back them. Fortunately, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) denied them. Unfortunately, it continues to be an issue since now ICR is suing THECB.

Hulu is Carrying the Entire Cosmos Series - Cosmos was a 17-part series written by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter (and narrated by Carl Sagan); and appeared on PBS in 1980. The full series is on Hulu; and has some updated information that Ann Druyan added.

Things on T|A You Might Have Missed from the Last Week

A few little problems. - Nathan's post on the sometimes scary thoughts of dying. Some excellent responses add to the mix, making for a very thought provoking read.

On the Two Biblical Flood Stories... - Nelson provides us a great rundown of the differing authors of the first books of the Old Testament; also detailing the two flood stories.

Oh Miss California - You'd have to be living in a cave to have missed the controversy Miss California stirred up recently. Bee comments, and gets lots of responses. Check it out if you missed this post.

Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief - Meta posted this great find. Make sure you've got some time to sit down and watch before you start (three parts, one hour each). Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
