what makes me laugh is what people say when a "liberal" but still muslim person gets sick! they say it's "god's punishment and wrath"!!

but when a religious person of god gets the same sickness, it becomes "god's test of faith, and god tests the people he loves"

After taking my medicine I felt better - praise the lord.

or when someone has a life saving surgery that dr's operated on for hours, and their family says "praise jesus. i prayed he would save him and he did!" really? it wasn't the dr's at all? would you've sued god if the dr's had really effed up and killed him? no. ugh it's frustrating.

Our little town of Auburn, Alabama had a natural gas explosion one sunday morning that leveled the main drag.  Fortunately, no one was killed, and I heard over and over how God had worked a big miracle that day!  I would always ask: couldn't he have worked a little one and just plugged the leak?

@Amy: Litigating against God is a fascinating idea. See an Australian movie called "The Man Who Sued God", with Billy Connelly and Judy Davis.

Quick premise: Man's boat gets destroyed in a lightning strike. Insurance claims it is an "Act of God". Man sues God claiming church officials as His representatives. Church leaders must either own up to it, or deny the existence of God.

Really rather funny in a sedated, quaint manner. (Not a slapstick comedy by any means)

Well, there is evil and tragedy in the world because the lord(jesus/allah/Stewie Griffin) works in mysterious ways.. and miracles happen!
