Since the chat is always dead I might as well use this

I assume just talking about life is ok.

I finally finished a ridiculously stressful semester of school and now I have no idea to do with all my free time. It helps that I'm about to start two jobs, though. And they both involve working from him which is my favorite kind. One is doing work for the Office of Naval research in DC which is not nearly as interesting as it might sound. The other is building some websites for an order of nuns my mom does IT for. I'm not thrilled about the religious aspect but I figure it's better I have the money than the pope. Really I'm just setting up an online library database which has such fascinating titles as a video "Holy Pictures - Meditation on stillness and silence: View deeply into a flower, weather-beaten old barn, tormented face of a homeless person - vestige of God." It's 57 minutes long. Those nuns sure know how to have a good time.

As soon as I get some money I desperately need to buy a new laptop. My a and s keys are broken so I have to use a screen keyboard. Plus the USB ports randomly stop working frequently. I'm pretty sure I can get a decent one for around 600 but I also really want a tortoisse. Hmm... decisions.

Comment by Heather Spoonheim on May 29, 2010 at 10:20pm: I always use an external keyboard with my laptop - which sort of defeats the purpose, but I just can't stand the laptop key layout. Also, having a wireless keyboard is cool because I can get a lot more comfortable. A tortoise would be cool though.
