Used to be "Take Me out To The Ballgame" was the song of choice sang during the seventh inning stretch at America's ballparks. Since 9/11 many have added or changed the song to "God Bless America." The lyrics seem to be somewhat hollow in light of that incident though. "Stand beside her and guide her" as the 727's crash into the WTC buildings. It's pitiful that so many never stop and think about the fact that their sky fairy seemed to be mostly indifferent to the insanity that occurred on that fateful day. The permeation of these feeble exultations extend into all areas of our society and serve as  a reminder as to how big this farce of invisible friends really is.

I just loved all the stories of the people who for some reason were late to work that day... because god intervened!  One even claimed god untied a shoelace so the guy would have to stop to tie it.

Too busy to help the other 3000 I guess.

With all the god babbling through the election I guess it had to bleed into the 7th inning.   Maybe next season with the election over we can start a movement to go back exclusively to Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
