Qustion about Rationalist Organization

Is anyone here a member of the Rationalists of East Tennessee?

I heard about the group on NPR this morning, discussing the upcoming meeting: What's Science Got to Do with It? When Scientists Talk Nonsense about Science and Religion.

I plan to go for the speech, but I also want to find out more about the group. I wonder what the benefits of membership are, if it's worth the annual fee, and things like that.

Where do you live? I used to live in Nashville. Are these people on "our" side, or... are they Christian? Nashville and the surrounding area is so saturated with religious zealots it's not even funny.

I'm in the Knoxville area, Cara. The website seems to indicate they're on "our" side. :-)

I've been interested in getting involved with just such an organization, if it's what I'm hoping for, and this is the first of its kind that I've seen.

I think your area, or former area, has it's own similar group: http://www.humanistmidtn.org/
