Protecting Muslim Girls From Rape is Now a Crime in Europe

read article here

this article should scare everyone around the world who believes that all human life is valuable and equal and should not be bound by the beliefs of any particular religious bent.

here is the beginning..

Freedom of speech and women’s rights just took a major hit in Denmark earlier today when the public prosecutor found Lars Hedegaard, the President of the Danish (and International) Free Press Society, guilty of “hate speech” under section 266b of the Danish penal code.

Hedegaard’s crime was to note “the great number of family rapes in areas dominated by Muslim culture in Denmark.”

The prosecutor’s crime is far greater. Now, courtesy of this prosecution, it is officially “racist” to tell the truth about sexual violence against women in Denmark, at least when that violence is perpetrated by Muslim fathers, uncles, or cousins.

I wonder if Mr Hedegaard just stated his opinion or did he have any statistics to back his claim. That could be the major sticking point as far as the law is concerned.

hard to know, but is suspect he wouldn't say things like that without data to back it up. though stranger things have happened!

I would be interested to know about Denmark's other laws in regards to free speech versus hate speech.  This type of limitation seems excessive. Does Denmark prevent this type of speech on the internet? Facebook?  You can't prevent people from expressing themselves on the net. Or can you?  This also brings us to the US and the question being are our free speech laws too lax? Too protected?  Do we stand up for hate speech regardless of the effect on the society or individual?  Interesting topics.

the usa has the guarantee of free speech protected in your constitution.. most countries don't have that in writing as far as i am aware. even in canada, we don't have that level of commitment to free speech at this point...

Shariah law and Islamic conquest mentality at your service..

Sassan, at what point does our compliance to their "conquest mentality" resist without retribution? do you think that the righteous right in the USA is on the same path of turn or burn evangelism?

James, I am sorry but can you clarify your question for me? I am a little confused at what you're asking..

We must as free people never allow religion to either alter our laws or for us to form accommodations that go against our is abhorrent and disgusting. I hope this verdict will be appealed and overturned ASAP. As for the U.S., we have a great constitution in which these sorts of things could never happen. For example, a mother was arrested for keeping blood transfusion to her son due to her "Jehova Witness" belief.

what i am asking is does our compliance to the "conquest mentality" expressed by both of the main monotheistic religions in the world show that they can not be stopped in any form? is there a way to stop the encroachment on our freedom without feeling a backlash in whatever form is chosen.

the usa constitution is under attack right now as the religious right attempts to alter it by making it complicit with their misguided belief that god has given them the mandate to be here, to be in charge and to evict or squash all those who disagree with them. how do we stop both forces without more blood shed, or is that even possible...

Really, a rag of Horowitz is a trustworthy source now?

This blog is rapidly turning into Free Republic now.  For people who actually believe this crap and believes that all over Europe, but especially in Denmark crazy eyed Muslims run around raping girls while being protected from brave defenders of freedom of speech, bravely telling the truth, should by all means go on reading the neocon pamflets. Don't you feel the hate coming on? Don't you want to do something about it? Kill some Muslims or some of those goddamned deluded evil liberal protectors , execute some of those commie pinko judges, before Giselle Litmann's conspiracy theory is proven right?

It's fucken pathetic.

This sets such a terrible precedent. I can't even think because my blood is at boiling point. Since when has it been a crime to tell the truth.

When did it really come to this. More to the point, how are we supposed to stem the tide.
