The pot of the gold at the end of the rainbow. Why is it there that everybody seeks? Its not about the end result, but the journey getting to the metaphorical pot of gold. The pot of gold seems to be religious in nature, to me at least. Some simply want facts to assure them that they will get that pot of gold. Those people never find it...[they find logic]. I think the pot of gold is there to keep the faith. A promise
of something wonderful to come. Faith alone is a controlling factor. Nobody has ever seen that pot of gold, but many are so confident that it is there. To me, the pot of gold is symbolizing salvation when one finally gets to heaven. Or something along those lines...Before you think I'm some religious fanatic, I think its a bunch of rubbish. Religion is simply a way to mold society. To get them to adhere to certain moral and ethical codes. But if we took a more existential approach on things, we would find that it is the rainbow, or journey that truly counts. If people understood this concept, religion would not be necessary. People could govern their action on common sense alone, I know...imagine that. Live a good life because its the only one you have, not because you will be rewarded if you do and punished if you do not. Religion turns society into Pavlov's dog...
Here is one of the things I wrote a while back...
