Several years ago my Mom called me, very upset.  She was stopped at an intersection in the road and started to pull out when a truck blew through the intersection and almost hit her.   A couple of blocks down the road the truck had, indeed, caused an accident that she drove by.  She told me God was really looking out for her that day.

Without even thinking I blurted out, "I wonder what those people in the accident did to piss God off so much that he wasn't looking after them."

It was probably the only time I can remember that she went silent.  Mom's a talker.  I took that time to tell her I was happy that she was okay and that I loved her.

I'm sure God wasn't too happy with me either.

i love how self centered people can be, they always look out for how god helped THEM, especially when they see that something bad almost happened to them but instead happened to someone else... how do they know those other people were bad. Anyway glad your mom is alright.

My sister-in-law wears a shirt showing the picture of a (kinda) cross shape made of little circles. It is the protein Laminin with the caption "The glue that holds us together". Laminin does, in fact, have some say in maintaining the integrity of our cells. She says it is proof of God's love for us. Since laminin deficiency is the cause of muscular dystrophy, I always as, "Why does your God hate people who have Muscular Dystrophy?" End of discussion, lol
