By "free choice," I mean that we have choices and that we can freely make choices and act upon those choices, thus affecting the courses of our lives.
The question is - Do we have free choice?
I have never been able to give an unqualified answer to this question.
However, I believe that it is a question that one must at least attempt to answer because the whole character of one's philosophy is very much dependent upon that answer. In other words, I believe that this question - Do we have free choice? - is the proper starting point for any philosophical exposition.
I welcome your comments.
