Perspectives on the Israeli / Palestinian crisis

Given the increasingly deadly responses between Israel and the Palestinians, I’d like to get more perspectives from atheists about what the causes are, and how to, if possible, undo some of the damage done in their relationship.

Is the core of their issue religion? Land? Resources? Politics?

I won’t even pretend to be a scholar on the regional history but I know enough to say that there have been numerous injustices brought about by both sides; and their violence perpetuates and escalates with every generation.

Opinions? Ideas? Thoughts?

Well... it would help if Jordan could give the Palestinians some type of path toward dual citizenship, instead of keeping so many of them in refugee camps... Oh, and let the Jordanians give up one acre of land to Palestine.

It will never happen, but if Israel and Palestine could form some kind of confederacy (two countries that are interconnected), that could be a solution...

Maybe I'm Islamiphobic, but I think it's apart of their religion to hate Jews...
