Well Annise Parker was just elected Mayor of Houston, Tx. :) She has been open about her homosexuality and is an activist in the gay community. I think it's great that she got elected but this got me thinking about politics and the rights for homosexuals. America has yet to come together and give the same rights to gay couples as heterosexual couples. Now I usually hear alot of politicians say that they want the "majority" to decide on gay marriage. I can't believe that this government would allow a "majority" to vote on the rights of a minority and ultimately on the rights of human beings. It infuriates me when a politician or anyone for that matter is clearly a christian then states that the issue of gay marriage is a political one and not a religious one! It is about the rights of human beings!

Every person deserves to live a joyful life without prejudices.
