Norwegian Ambassador Robert Kvile has regretted the publication of caricatures of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the newspapers of his country.
According to the official spokesman, the ambassador met Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi and expressed his great concern over consequences of such publication. He informed the minister that his country respects Islam and the people of Norway would never support publication of such caricatures, which hurt the feelings of Muslims. He was of the view that his government would devise a strategy to put an end to such practices in future.
The minister welcomed the envoy and informed him about the sentiments of the people of Pakistan over the publication of such objectionable caricatures. The minister was of the view that the publication of such caricatures has dented the feelings of 1.5 billion Muslims. He reiterated that the Norwegian government must come up with some concrete steps for making legislation in this respect to draw a borderline for stopping such practices in future.
The ambassador assured the minister that he would communicate the feelings of the government and people of Pakistan to his government.
