Hey guys,
I've spent the last few nights hanging with protesters here. The scene is amazing. A lot of people are asking what it's all about, what are the principles, what the protest is against, and part of the beauty and the frustration of it all is that there is no set one thing.
Personally, I would like a list of principles or demands, and I'm not happy with the drafts that have been coming out so far, but the one thing every person down there has in common is that we believe the system has failed us, and as part of the 99%, we want reform. I am personally down there for three reasons that I have decided for myself:
1) The bailout of 2008 was given to banks, who purposefully violated proper business practices, without any mandate of a change in those unscrupulous business practices.
2) The Citizens United decision. A corporation should not be treated as a person.
3) The merge of corporate power into government authority.
I would love for you to discuss this, but more importantly, here are 11 things you can do to help us.

Your a chihuahua biting into the buttocks of a rottweiler. Good Luck with that.....
They are a brazen bunch w/ their continued excessive CEO bonuses and whatnot. It is amazing what ineptitude will get you.
Proving once again that atheists make some of the best professional complainers.
We're working on demands at the moment. I nearly left the movement last night, because they are basically putting together a wishlist that you can find on any Democrat's candidacy page, and will not accomplish anything. For that and other reasons, I am pushing hard to get this document passed, which is a Declaration of the Occupation at Wall Street, more of a list of grievances than anything else.
Here's some demands I'm sure they all could agree on:
-Higher weekly allowance.
-Later bedtime.
-New iPod.
-World peace.
iPod? Who still uses an iPod? We want iPhones dammit! The new one, with 5G!
Well I am doing #1, #8 and #6 by way of doing #8.... which is not much but I've heard talk of local protests that will be more accessible to me.
