Hi, Tammy,I'm sure their behaviour will calm down once they realise that it's not going to change the way you feel.I think the best thing you can do is just act like it doesn't bother you & treat your family as you usually would before you told them you were atheist.

I honestly think it has less to do with their religion than it does with insecurity that you're going your own way & they may think they're going to lose you somehow.

That said, it doesn't take away from the fact that they're being ridiculous lol, and I wish you good luck with their efforts :)

@Robert McBean, my family is all fundies, can't wait to see how that turns out when I come out.  I'd like to do it at Christmas I think.  Might as well do it right or not at all my father always says.

Next time they are needling you on your stance, point all those things out to them.  Have them reflect on the people they were before you came out.  How far away from god they were.  Then have them look at themselves now!  They should be overwhelmed with their before and after photo!  And it was you that did this!  They would probably be damned to hell if not for you, their wonderful daughter and sister.

My Mom and sister did the same.  My Mom took my name off all her bank accounts because now I would steal her money.  Yes, very sad.  My sister started calling herself Holy Roman Catholic, everything she knew about religion, I taught her.
