So I've got some scars on my right hand from multiple reconstruction surgeries. The first runs across the top of my wrist from ulna to radius and makes it look like my hand has been sewn on. The stitches themselves scarred as well, adding to the rather Frankenstein's monster effect.
There is another smaller one just above it, about a third of the way up my hand, too. I generally hide these with my Think Atheist bracelets, but I still get a lot of questions about them. Even though they are on the BACK of my hand and wrist, I've had many inquiries if they were self inflicted and/or suicide attempts as well as people asking if they are design oriented scarification or branding (The stitch pattern is very obvious and quite straight, making it look rather intentional or designed.
I've been considering getting them inked over for a long time now, if I can find someone skilled enough to go over the scar tissue. Random designs or well spaced, small characters would probably look best considering the pattern already in place. One of the ideas that came to me was to have the preamble of the U.S Constitution done in a copy-cat script of the original document.
