I was play poker at my local casino the other day and i wore my think atheist bracelet. A gentleman at the table asked what was written on it and i told him. He said that's pretty cool, to each his own. Another man said that was the most ridiculous thing he heard. I said what do you mean. He said, why would a person flaunt their beliefs like that, especially someone who has no beliefs. I told him i have beliefs... I believe in myself...I believe i choose my own destiny... I make my own choices....and what is the difference, if a person of a religeous belief wears a cross around their neck. He said that's totally different. I said how is it different ... in your words it would be flaunting his beliefs. He said, but a cross is acceptable, being atheist isn't. I told him we can just agree to disagree and left it at that.

You did the right thing Angel! That was beautifully handled. Glad the bracelet is coming in handy :] Glad you also shared the story here!

BTW the new bracelets will be incoming in about 2 1/2 weeks or so. Hot Pink is inbound :P & in smaller sizes.

Funny how it is acceptable to be delusional & free to walk the streets. If anyone were talkin' to an imaginary friend other than the main monotheistic god, they'd be looked away in an asylum. The problem for us is that there just isn't an asylum big enough to hold all these weirdos.

Ha... ya know, I think if people replaced the name, God, with Frank, maybe they would see the ridiculousness of their belief.

"Well, who created life?"

"Oh... well, Frank did."

"Who's Frank?"

"Frank is the Creator of Everything there is... and you can have a relationship with him! I do. Even though I can't see Frank, he talks to me all the time. He's with me wherever I go."

"So... you can't see him... but he talks to you... um... have you been to see a doctor lately?"

"No. The doctors say I'm Paranoid Schizophrenic, but Frank said it wasn't true. He said the bad guy, Bob, was out to get me. He said don't listen to anything they say because they're just trying to trick me. They don't want me to go to Frank's house. They don't like Frank and keep trying to tell me he's not real. But, Frank knows everything... and he said he'd keep me safe."

The best part has to be how flaunting *his* beliefs is fine, but flaunting someone else's? No way.

Atheism is a CONCEPT of non-belief.. How does that sound?
