The California Fair Political Practices Commission has been investigating the Mormon Church for allegedly underreporting its spending on behalf of Proposition 8. Scott Trotter, a spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has repeatedly stated that the allegations made against the church were false.

The allegations relating to how much involvement, how much money was spent, and were employees of the church paid for their support work.

Looks like the Mormon Moron Church has stuck their foot in their mouth, and have publicly proven what many of us privately believe – the church is not only bigoted, but liars too – so much for their morality.

This week the Mormon Church disclosed that they spent nearly $190,000 on Prop 8. This includes direct contribution as well as travel expenses for church employees (airline tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars), and $96,849.31 worth of “compensated staff time” paid to the church employees. Now some of the skeptics are even more skeptically, pointing out that if they lied about it once, why not lie about how much now?

On a related side note, the ‘Yes on 8 Campaign’ filed their expenditure reports; and the total spent by proponents has passed $41 million. During an economic crisis, religion managed to raise over $41 million dollars in support of hate. Despicable!
