Let's Send Rick Perry and those like him a message

In  this advertisement Rick Perry said

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.
As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.
Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.
I’m Rick Perry and I approve this message.

It’s making waves around the internet for being full of hate for gay men and women and backwards idea like the U.S. being founded on faith and that his being Christian makes him a better candidate. Grabbed  this idea from Reddit.com. This is hate speech based on sexual orientation. If it goes down it may send bigots like Perry an important message.

On the bright side 128 000 plus dislikes so far, it just makes me so proud when people stand up for human rights.

“We cannot be in the business of forcing people to choose between who they are, who they love, and their faith. Rick Perry’s rhetoric presumes that you can’t be Christian and supportive of LGBT people. Yet many Christians see in Jesus’s example a call to love and support their LGBT neighbors. Rick Perry is trying to claim religion for political motives, but it won’t work. Our faith is too precious to be used as a cynical tool for political ends.” -Sharon Groves

Well said Ms. Groves.

Are you guys flagging the video for hate speech too?

Would be awesome if it got taken down

I doubt they will remove it, the media storm that seems to be brewing will do a lot more damage anyway,

I hopethe media "crucifies" him. On a lighter note, the all over failure of this ad is just EPIC and keeps on rolling.

Please don't point out the Carhartt thing... It makes me ashamed to wear one.

Comment by Dustin on December 8, 2011 at 7:22pm

I'd rather the video stay up so more people can become aghast at the bigotry he proclaims under the name of Jesus.

And Bryan, you DO REALIZE that those dislikes are fake, yes?  It's totally fake.  Happens all the time, people can hack the like / dislike system and force the numbers to rise.

Comment by Bryan B on December 8, 2011 at 8:46pm

@Dustin. It was on the Reddit front page as a suggestion. That alone would generate that many dislikes.

You Americans have to put up with so much more bullshit than we do. At least in NZ seperation of church and state exists to some extent. I hope that this guy doesn't get voted in.
