Latest hot read for hundreds is the Bible
My mother sent me the actual article, and I found it online to share with ya'll...Truly disturbing.
Here's an excerpt: It's a book awash in blood, teeming with psychosexual drama and rife with supernatural occurrences, yet the Bible is seldom read like a novel, beginning to end.
They advocate reading the Bible like fiction but treating it like nonfiction. How ludicrous!

Church member Wesley Wolffrum, 66, says he was a "lukewarm Christian for the past 60 years," but he started reading the Bible cover to cover and became inspired.

Yeah, reading the bible inspired me to get the hell away from anyone who believes it's the paradigm for human behavior!

"I keep asking myself, 'Why so many people?' " Sweeting says. "I guess the Bible really is basic, enduring and sustaining in unstable times."

Either that or people want to see what the fuss is all about.

I've started reading the bible recently, and so far I'm not so impressed. It's a confusing and often startling book, in which god cannot make up his goddamn mind. So far he managed to somehow miss Adam and Eve eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge, miss Cain bashing in Able's head, let Abraham haggle him down on the amount of righteous men needed to save Soddom and Gommorah, completely destroyed Soddom and Gommorah, inexplicably turned Lot's wife to salt, destroyed most of earth's population in a flood (just because he didn't like the way things were going) and subjected a mini plague to egypt because Abraham pretended he was his wife's brother, and the Pharoah wanted to have his way with Abraham's wife.

And that's just halfway through Genesis.

Yeah.. I maintain its sales numbers are only spiked by hotel owners putting one in every room...
Just because someone owns one doesn't mean it gets used.
Otherwise there would be more atheists.

I think it is great that they are being asked to read the bible from cover to cover. The thinkers of the group might pick up on the inconsistancies, contradictions, and ask themselves if god is really all loving and moral.
