After watching a report on the crazy koran burning pastor i am forced to ask this question. Why is nobody talking about the FACT that the burning of a koran is no different than the burning of a comic book or the burning of a piece of wood. There might be a few more BTU's generated from a koran but all in all no adverse affects. It sickens me that these people on TV that report the news fail to include any dialog on this. Lindsey Gram also put forth comments on changing the 1st amendment to regulate what people can say " during war time" like we did during WWII. This will only lead to us being " at war " forever. If our brave men and women in combat are not mentally and physically able to address an increase in hostility toward them for whatever reason then they do not need to be deployed. Now i do not believe that one single service member of our country is worried about some idiot in the south burning a book. These men and women train for combat and combat is tough, but to hear a member of our senate saying that we need to limit free speech in order to support our troops is like closing the barn door after the horse has escaped. It would be like us saying we are going to limit free speech as not to piss off Hitler so he wont slaughter so many people. No, that’s not how it works. We need to address some simple facts. A book is a book, it didn’t float down out of the sky, it was written by men to control men, it has no mystical power but yet people ( fools ) continue to believe it does. I am more afraid of people like Lindsey Gram than i am of the crazy pastor. Mr. Gram has power and uses myth to direct that power, crazy pastor has nothing and uses myth do nothing.
