Wow. This is kinda like that Precious Moments Small Hands version of the Bible. I actually like the Precious Moments figurines, but seeing the Bible just made me cringe.

I seem to remember having something like this as a child as well. However it didn't stick, obviously. I was always a big fan of Dr. Suess. :)

I had to read something like this growing up. For Jehovah's Witness kids it was called "My Book of Bible Stories," it's been the standard for years. I remember getting bored in the "meetings" (JW church) when I was small and looking at the pictures. Some of them I liked because they were bright and colorful. I also remember that there were many I hated. There women/children/babies drowning the Flood, numerous killings and talks of the apocalypse. Lots of blood too, which all made me uneasy. It was the first book I denounced on my way out of that cult and onwards to the path of atheism. There's a certain level of irony present with being raised on that book; for example my parents got uneasy with me playing violent video games and watching violent cartoons. Imagine, I was observing violence before I could full grasp what it was.
