Irrational Faith In Govenment Is Just as Disturbing as Irrational Faith in Religion

So I sit here reflecting back upon the events of the last few days. OSAMA is DEAD! Hundreds if not thousands of Americans take to the streets in joy and celebration at the death of the monster that "murdered" their family members, friends, and fellow Americans...

After 10 years of cave hopping they finally got him.. They storm his bunker, put a bullet in him.. and its over.

They promptly destroy the evidence, bury him at sea, and don't release even one photo of his body..

Not even one picture.. Not even one snapped on a soldiers phone..

Now.. They say this is because they fear fueling additional attacks against the United States.

That it would be to upsetting to the Muslim world...

They didn't seem to mind releasing all those Osama videos to the world. Despite how upsetting it was to those directly related to 9/11. Those feelings were never taken into account..

But then again that was still back when they were still trying to drive up public support for their invasions.

Then there was the fake Osama video that was released. A video clearly displaying a person that was not Osama.. but merely passed off with not even a single official seeming to notice.. This was ironically the video where he accepted responsibility for 9/11..

One thing I've learned being an atheist is to look at all sides of an argument before jumping to conclusions. I would not say that I'm one that would place irrational beliefs in conspiracies, but I would tend to believe in things that are supported by evidence until such a date that it could be proven incorrect by additional evidence.

Am I making any outright claims? Not at all..

But I do know that all of the events of 9/11 are extremely fishy...

From NATO conducting simulations of planes flying into buildings on the exact time and date that planes were being flown into buildings.

From the fires that burned hot enough to turn steel into lava that pooled in the basement, yet still allowed the passports of the hijackers to be found unharmed.

To the building that was destroyed without even a single impact.

To the entire site of these massive building being reduced to dust.

To the support beams being cut off at angles that would allow them to collapse in upon themselves.

To the fishy video of the man accepting responsibility that looks nothing like the person who he is claiming to be.

and last but not least, to the select few individuals who have made millions if not billions of dollars resulting from the invasions that took place afterwards at the tax payers expense...

But then again.. everything could be just as they've said.. And baby Jesus could really be our lord and savior.. and Santa Clause really could be coming down the chimney..

Do i know anything for sure? Nah.

All I'm saying is that irrational faith in Government is just as sick and destructive as the irrational faith in religion.

But what I do know.. There is tons of money to be made from the murder of innocent people, and we're going to need a new monster now that this one has officially been declared dead.

Lets see what the series of events will be that lead to enough public support being granted to fuel the invasion to get this one.

Mark my words, here and now. ;)

We have pictures and videos. They will be release eventually. They can't keep it from us forever. You want to live in delusion and believe in conspiracies, that is your prerogative. But I call irrational criticism of the west and America and justifying radical Islam in itself a delusion and part of a personality/delusion disorder.

Perhaps.. And that's a very good possibility.. But..

It could also be a possibility that your comment was a demonstration of the irony of a person being able to escape the brainwashing of religion yet not that of nationalist programming.. The two are always so closely related and go hand in hand.

Not trying to be mean, or pick a fight. I'm just saying.

Call my disorder and I'll call yours.  ;)

Not at all, I realize the threat of radical Islam and what it constitutes to the entire free world. You are willing to stand on the side of tyranny and conspiracies based on zero evidence; I stand with western liberalization, democracy, human rights, secularism, and scientific advancement.

I am willing to criticize my government when it is just; not based on nonsense and zero evidence and super-sensitivity to the rights of the enemies we are fighting to defend western civilization and the basic values of human dignity.

Nothing in what I posted would ever suggest that i deny the threat of radical Islam, or that I support it, or that i wish to enable it. I view all religions equally as evil and equally as destructive. The same as i do for any government that uses tyranny to accomplish their goals. Weather is the oppressive middle eastern countries, or the british monarchy that got into power by the minipulation, murder, extortion of the poor peasents who were told they were to be ruled by order of god, or even that of the.. *gets down on knees in reverence* United States. I call them as I see them based upon EVIDENCE..

I've made no claims.. I've pointed no fingers.. All I've said was what happened, why it was fishy.. and I leave it up to everyone to draw their own conclusions.

What I did imply that it was silly to place faith in officals who have time after time shown their love for the almighty dollar to be much more than the love of their fellow Americans.

And if you fail to see any evidence of that i would have to assume that it is because of the artificial blinders you have strapped to your face.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil..

Unless its the evil done by someone you've only been told has done it and now its your responsibility to kill them for it. Your ready to jump all over that.

Aside from the bickering.. You've only managed to further enforce my original notion..

The Irrational Faith in Government is Just as Disturbing as the Irrational Faith in Religion.

It's probably best this be the end of our conversations. You're no where near a worthy adversary and I have personal moral objections to the unnecessary cruelty of lesser creatures.

Besides, I don't engage in debate with liars. It's an exercise in futility.

Your profile says your an Atheist, but you're not. You're just as religious as any other nut. Only difference is you've ripped Christ down off the cross and nailed an American flag in his place.

An excellent read and very well thought out.  I hold out hope that the more the government gets caught lying about these things, the less faith the public will throw behind their solutions to fabricated problems.  Well, we can only hope, anyway.  There will always be those who demand the lies be swallowed hook, line, and sinker - insisting that you are not a patriot unless you gulp it all down unflinchingly.  They are too far gone to be reasoned with, but be assured they are in shorter supply each decade.

I don't buy that molten steel stuff and explosions, thermite and what not. It was passenger planes with people flying into buildings. It was an act of terrorism beyond evil and beyond human comprehension.

But evidence. There were more video's tying OBL to the hijackers and to 911. There is evidence, there is circumstantial evidence, but there seemingly is no "hard" evidence. In june 2006 the FBI was asked why OBL wasn't on the Ten Most Wanted poster for 911 and the FBI's answer was that:

“The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice then decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11.”

Later that year or in 2006 a new video was released by as Sahab with OBL seen walking next to hijackers Wail al Shehri and Hamza al Ghamdi in some camp in Afghanistan. It had English subtitles, so as not to leave much room for speculation to what audience this was addressed.

Ultimately the question of failing to have any hard evidence could offer an explanation for the decision to kill him and get rid of what could become an embarrassing situtation bringing him in and putting him on trial, having the benefit of learning from the failed showtrial of Saddam Hussein.

Politicians have three priorities :  1 Getting re-elected.   2  Their party, which is very helpful in getting re-elected.    3  The good of the country.   Sometimes, when the American people scream loudly enough, they will 'buck the party'.   This is not a common occurrence.

I don't buy everything the government tells me either. However, when it comes to the 9/11 conspiracy, there just too many things about the conspiracy that are unfeasable. For starters, a cover up that size would have to be so big, and involve so many people, and have been done so perfectly that it is just too crazy.

I'm still undecided about how to feel about OBL pic not being released. Also burying him so soon to keep with Muslim beliefs is a good idea, because we have been trying to make sure that we make the distinction between our war on terrorists and a war on muslims.
