Ireland tells the Vatican how it feels

I am elated to hear that Ireland has officially told the Vatican they will no longer tolerate their evils and closed their embassy as Reuters reports. Citing that the embassy has "no economic return" Ireland announced the closing Thursday night and will be the first major country with a strong Catholic history to cut off ties with the Vatican.

This is fantastic news, I can only hope other countries follow suit and show their disgust at the ongoing horrors and human suffering brought into the world by the Vatican. Here is Enda Kenny's brave and moving speech about the Vatican's child abuse and cover-up he gave earlier this year.

Thanks for the report right from Ireland. I think its the same in most industrialized countries that their are a lot of bigger things to worry about than what is happening with the catholic Church or any religion. This is a good thing

A very moving speech, and one that hits at the heart of the issue. Enda Kenny is a brave man, an eloquent man to stand up to the Vatican after centuries of unbelievable horrors inflicted on his country by those of his own faith. He talks of the "sacred space of childhood" - a wonderful description of a time in our lives that too many have lost due to the inability of men who have had celibacy forced upon them to control their own natural desires. Enough of this. No rational man would do this to a child. The light of reason is overdue in our world, but maybe Ireland just got warmed by the first of its rays.

After a century of terrible fighting between the Catholics and Protestants in Ireland, the Nazi Pope Ratzinger has finally succeeded in uniting the Irish people in a common cause: hatred of him and his despicable Vatican.
