We signed the paperwork on my birthday.
Colin's mum told me that getting her boy in writing was the best birthday present a girl could ever have. :)
My name is now perfectly absurd, especially considering my diving career and writing aspirations, but it's fun, right?
The actual wedding is either going to be in Scotland with his entire family, Florida when his brother and sis come on holiday, or in Vegas (like I want!!!) I'll post a date when we decide on one. Frankly, neither of us look forward to standing up in front of a crowd and proclaiming our undying love, or anything else that cheesy. If it doesn't involve an Elvis, I'm not particularly interested.
Since I couldn't find a secular/humanist registered officiant here in Arizona, we had my boss do it for us. She's a Wiccan priestess. I think that's fair enough. No Wiccan has ever told me I'm going to hell. No Wiccan has ever tried to deny me my civil rights because I don't believe in their mythology. Frankly, I wasn't even willing to do it at the courthouse because of Arizona's idiotic laws concerning marriage. Unless my cousin and his boyfriend can get married by the state, they aren't getting my $60. Booya!

We are working on immigration issues as I type this. That's part of the reason I haven't been around as much as usual. All my free time is being sucked up by paperwork and scraping together money.

I'm trying to sneak in time to write, but it is hard.
I'll be looking for test readers soon on a book centered around.....atheism.
Inspired oh so much by our little community here!

Congrats!

I could not agree more! :) Plus, where else besides Vegas can you have your wedding reception at a buffet restaurant that serves sushi, steak, and lobster?

Jean Marie-
'Mo' is what I call Morgan Matthew... The founder of ThinkAtheist.
Back when we were first growing our identity as a website, I was often assigned to write 'stern' letters.
Dave or Frink or someone called me that, and I changed my name as a joke and never changed it back.

Lastly.. my full name is now legally Misty Ann Waters.
Misty Waters, professional diver.

CONGRATS! - Ps... I LOVE your last name!!! What are you talking about that it's wierd? Mine is Wierd!!! "Knuth" - Most people don't even know how to pronounce it! At least they'll be able to pronounce yours!
Although it HAS been rather funny counting up how many different ways people mispronounce my last name...
The correct pronounciation is [Ka - nooo -th]
But I've gotten [Noo-th], obviously, and [Nut] and [Kaa-nut], and [Kaa-nooot], and my dad once got [Kaaa- nittle] - With that one it's like WTF?! lol
