I have encountered such lost causes. I had one dingbat say, "fuck scientists". I immediately reminded him of all of the things he had because of science. You know, just about everything we have in life has credit due to science. I finished my comment by telling him, without science he would be fucked. I also quoted what he said. ''science sucks and religion rules" I told him that is the same thought process of the middle east.

I will never ever let some jackass insult science in front of me without giving them a stern reminder why science is so important. Never, ever, let someone say that science is stupid and get away with it. You must confront such idiotic statements! Remind them of the food they eat, the medicine they take, the car they drive, the drinkable water they consume, the energy they waist, and the fucking computer and other technology they use. I could go on and on with examples.

Whoa to the fool that says something as stupid as that to me.

Sorry for the rant, but this is one of my biggest pet peeves.

When I worked at a call center, and was talking about certain customers I used to say "you can't argue with stupid, stupid always wins". Some people no matter what won't listen, which is a sad, sad thing. Oh and you can substitute the word "faith" for stupid in my statement, the two words are fairly interchangeable.
