How many times have you heard ye old "if god had meant for us to (insert here), he would have (insert here)" cliche.  I have more memories of this when I was younger but I still hear it from time to time. Now that I've reached, what George Carlin deemed "the age of reason", it sounds more asinine than ever.

If god meant us to..? Really? There's a Rage comic in there somewhere.  What made me think of this is that I actually heard it recently, I think on TV and it made me chuckle. Doesn't that quote itself call into question the perfection of the great designer? Because obsviosly most didn't adhere to that mantra. I mean through the ages, if we really listened to it, would we be using airplanes? Going into outerspace? Developing vaccines?  If god really wanted us to cure cancer he would not of given it to us in the first place. WTF.
