I watched the SNL parody on the television of ICP's song Miracles before I was aware of the actual song. After discovering the source of the parody, I was beside myself at how little SNL had to do to parody this. It is so ridiculous, that it is its own parody. But it also worried me in that I know far too many people who not only embrace ignorance, but seem to celebrate it as a virtue.

The religious right is in the mainstream pushing their anti-intellectual and anti-science agenda. I see the effects on my family and friends, where reading a book is a boring waste of time and learning is considered dangerous and unwholesome.

Watch the video and beware of the NSFW language.

The SNL skit didn't have to do much to point out the absurdity of this song.

Maybe I am being too sensitive. I have seen one of my nieces drop out of high school and another niece constantly complains about school on her Facebook page, ironically asking why she needs to learn "stuff" in sentences riddled with terrible grammar and misspellings.

ZJemptv gives a good analysis of this video. Also some NSFW language contained in her video.

Is ZJemptv a girl? I could never really tell for sure either way.

A bit androgynous, I agree, but she claims to be a female. I can only take her at her word.

What a great explication!

Ya, I caught this a little time ago. There are a lot of people trying to defend the video, claiming symbolism and art. The thing is, what their expressing in their art is ignorance and anti-rationality. I listened to some ICP when I was younger, but this song has definitely put them on my list of idiots I just can't listen to...

Franco P posted the ICP video too.

My comments on his posting....
Insane Clown Posse just affirmed why I am proud to say I am an Atheist.

I wasn't sure if I should laugh, cry, throw up, or shit my pants. I managed all four before the video was over.

Yes, most Christians are Juggalos. It's evident in ICP's lyrics:
1:22 "Music is all magic. You can't even hold it!"
1:53 "Fuckin' magnets! How do they work?"
1:55 "And I don't wanna talk to a scientist. Y'all motherfuckers lyin', and gettin' me pissed!"
2:53 "Magic everywhere in this bitch."

...and Zjemptv claiming to be a female is most definitely a self description of her gender identity. "Her" Adam's apple is a dead giveaway.

Also, there's a picture on "her" profile of a newspaper clipping clearly identifying "her" as somebody's son named "Zach".

I don't doubt that. I was just being polite. After all, it matters not her gender if her message is sound. Or his.

...matters not her gender... You are correct, sir. Her gender doesn't matter a bit. I was just trying to answer Apple's question.

I think she usually makes some very valid points, but the delivery is always a bit too stale for me.

Agreed on many points, Dan.
